I am out of school, so that means summer is already in the air. And of course, you can’t enjoy summer vacay without going to the beach at least once during the next few months!
But before you hit the sand and waves, I want to share with you my beach bag must-haves. That way, you can have a good idea of what you want to start packing.
This is a no-brainer. I love the water (except for when the ocean waves get too strong and start knocking me over repeatedly). Going to the beach without jumping in the water is an impossible task for me. That’s why if you have to bring one item, bring a swimsuit. I mean, even when you just want to sunbathe, you still need to wear one.
I chose this two-piece specifically because of the halter top. Its design is practical enough that you can wear this alone with a pair of denim shorts.
I feel uncomfortable not bringing at least one pair of sunglasses on a sunny day, much less on a sunny day at the beach. Sunglasses is the quintessential summer accessory. I mean, how can you look cool without them? (Just kidding – but really, though.)
Confession: I usually bring at least 3 pairs just in case I feel like shaking things up.
This pair is so funky and cool at the same time that it’s definitely going to my cart the next time I go shopping online.
You can never have too much sun protection. Also, I always dislike knowing that the top of my head is literally burning from overexposure to the sun. So, the best solution to this is a floppy sunhat that not only covers the top of your head, but your face as well.
4. Sunscreen Lotion (Spray)
I cannot stress how important it is to lather on some sunscreen when you’re outside. It’s fine if you want to tan, but don’t let your one day quest for beauty bring you pain.
No one wants sand sticking on their butt. And on their elbows. And on the back of their legs.
Flip flops are really comfortable and convenient to wear but if I had to bring only one pair of footwear to the beach, I’d probably pick some more fashionable sandals. Sandals have the functionality of flip flops but are the stylish version of them.
6. Extra Pair of Underwear
Embarrassingly enough, I cannot tell you how many times I have or have almost forgotten to bring an extra pair of undies. Well, if you don’t mind drying off in the sun for a bit longer before leaving the beach – like me, then it shouldn’t be too big of a problem. But if you’re rushing to go home, it’s better if you brought underwear to quickly change into, don’t you think?
I absolutely love this gorgeous matching bustier and bottoms set. The bustier is so gorgeous that I almost forgot that it’s not part of any swimwear. I swear, you can wear this without a top covering it as well (notice how I like 2-in-1 pieces).
